Texas Heritage started as a dream for owners Billy and Susan Johnson. They dreamed of a family operation that could be passed down to future generations. The dream included a vineyard, winery, and tasting room, all built with honoring Texas as the central theme.

The first grapevines were planted in 2015. To date, twelve and a half acres have been planted of such varietals as Tempranillo and Tannat.

The winery facility was completed in the fall of 2017 and used to crush for the first time with the harvest of 2018. The winery building has hosted a couple of Wine Club events and is home to over 300 stored barrels of wine.

Texas Heritage Vineyard Tasting Room located at 3245 E US Hwy 290 opened in May of 2018. Daughter Jessica Allen manages the tasting room. We are blessed to have a wonderful, inviting staff that makes everyone feel home!

Long-time Texas Music enthusiast and supporters, the Johnson’s try to marry talented Texas Singer-songwriters and great Texas wines, made by hand with love, in their Tasting room and at their Winery. Look for events with these musicians on Sunday afternoons.

Like most Texans, the Johnsons are very proud of their State. They hope to preserve and promote that pride while having a blast with great Texas wine!
